We are delighted to announce that Prizology is partnering with the University of Sunderland School of Medicine.

Sunderland's School of Medicine opened in 2019 as one of only five new medical schools established to address the regional imbalance of medical training places across England. It was built with a clear purpose: to widen access to the profession and ensure medicine reflects the communities it serves. That mission has taken root. The school is now ranked first in the north-east for student satisfaction and fourth in the UK overall in the Guardian University Guide 2027, and was named Medical School of the Year at the Educate North Awards 2026.

From today, every Sunderland medical student has full access to Prizology: the complete database of prizes, awards, essay competitions, grants, and research opportunities, filterable by specialty, eligibility, and deadline, available from year one through to graduation.

Building a strong portfolio takes time, intention, and knowledge of what opportunities actually exist. Most students still find out about prizes and awards through word of mouth or by chance. That works well for those already in the right networks, and less well for everyone else. This partnership sits in the same spirit. Every student, regardless of year or background, now has structured access to the opportunities that build careers.
